Bosch
EFAW70 Elektrotester Engine Tester. This tester, which dates to the
70s, was used to test the electrical system of automobiles, trucks,
buses and tractors. The tester, which is enclosed in a suitcase-style
case measures 19x14x7 inches. User’s guide, in English, and other
documentation included. The instructions plate in the unit is in
German, but I am including a scan of one in English, the plate you see
below. Cables included, although a couple of them could benefit from
renewing; an easy upgrade. The paint has some wear, but the lid and back are in good
condition; see pictures. Voltmeter gauge dial appears worn or broken, but I am including a replacement Voltmeter instrument in case you'd like to replace. Great kit, rare, unique.
From
the manual, describing what can be tested: On generators and
regulators: regulating voltage at no-load, regulating voltage under
load, commencement of current regulation on regulators with steep-drop characteristics,
cut-in voltage, reverse current. Batteries-voltage under load from
starter. On electric conductors: voltage drop in starter feed line,
voltage drop in lines leading to other loads such as headlamp line,
charging line, ground testing, open circuits. Current consumption of
various loads. Ignition colis. Ignition point setting. Puncture
strength of insulating parts. Ignition and suppressor capacitors.
This
item is heavy and bulky. If
you can pick it up in San Diego, it would be preferred. Otherwise, I
can ship it to you anywhere in the world.
