EMILE GALLE ART NOUVEAU WOOD BOX SIGNED c1900



Beautiful Art Nouveau period walnut wood box circa 1900 signed by Emile Galle.  The cover set with a fine marquetry panel depicting a church tower in a mountain landscape.  The tiny branded signature nestling at the base of the marquetry panel.  The old French polish floods the signature & it is hard to read clearly (please see my close up photos). The main wood is a walnut.

 

Marks: branded signature in the marquetry E. GALLE 02?

Dimensions: approx 7½ inches diameter at the maximum point.

Some stains & blemish marks in the wood but overall very good condition.
