ISLAMIC BRONZE CASKET DATED 1886 RED ENAMEL ARABIC URDU



Superb Indo Persian casket with an inscription fated 1886.  Heavy bronze or brass with red niello enamel inlaid decoration.  The inscription is an Islamic Arabic type script, probably Urdu or Farsi..  Hinged cover with heavy duty handle.


Marks: Inscription to the cover cartouche.

Dimensions: approx 13 inches long x 9 inches wide.


Weight: approx 3 kilos.


Condition: Minor dings.  Some tarnishing, especially to the interior.  Overall excellent condition.
