Charlie and the chocolate factory is not first edition - it is a later edition. Charlie and the great glass elevator is First Edition.


Condition of Charlie and the chocolate factory: the dust jacket has tears on edges in many areas and chips missing - notably in corners and top and bottom of spine, heavy yellowing on dust jacket- notably on edges and inner spine, inner left dust jacket flap has a corner cut off at top and some holes along back inner side edge and wear in a crease line along both outer side edges of dust jacket, many creases in dust jacket - notably at bottom edge, light brown discoloration splotches on both front and back and spine of dust jacket. Other marks and signs and show of wear on dust jacket. On the cover of Charlie and the chocolate factory on front left in tan spine fabric material on front top left there is a small tear on seam, there are some marks here and there on cover and dings and scratches and dents along edges, the corners have damage and wear through outer material into inner material, wear on top and bottom of spine fabric, other wear. The interior of the book has green endpapers, on interior list of other books the book Fantastic Mr. Fox is listed and that came out in 1970 which shows this to be a later copy, pages are yellowed and smudge marks on page across from ch. 1 page (page 3), and marks on bottom edge of some pages and page turning small indents at bottom of some pages, pencil mark on page 82, smudge marks on 80 and 83 and a number of other pages brown mark on outer sides of pages from around 150 to end, other marks and wear on interior pages here and there from use.


Charlie and the great glass elevator: the dust jacket has heavy wear and creases along all edges but notably on top and bottom edges, there are some small tears along top and bottom edges and creased up heavy wear on top spine edge of dust jacket and lesser so on bottom spine edge, there are discoloration marks here and there and a vertical wide gray mark on back of dust jacket, many scratches on dust jacket and back inner dust jacket flap has a creased down area by photo and above photo, roughed up areas into material on inside front of dust jacket, other wear on dust jacket. On cover of Charlie and the great glass elevator has a couple deep dents to right and below Willy’s hand on front of cover and damage in corners of covers with west into material into next layer on front lower right corner of cover, back lower right section of cover has a larger brown mark and some scratches on back cover, some fading on spine cloth and top and bottom edges of spine. Lots has some rumple, other wear on cover. In the interior of the book the page to right of left endpaper is discolored all along the left side with a sharp vertical line due to resting on dust jacket flap for years and slightly similar discoloration on back end paper, first title page has 10-72 penciled at bottom with a small tear next to it, there is a hole with marks an a scratch on page 20 on lower left side and all pages to the left of that to the left endpaper inner cover wall have a deep dent - the hole continues from 20 to page 9 where hole gets lesser to where on page 8 and beyond it is a dent (see photos), tear at bottom left page of “for my daughters” page, other marks and wear on interior pages.
