This is a superb pair of Staffordshire seated russet red & white spaniel dogs with both having the wonderful overall portrayals of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the mid 19th century.

Date about c1850s.

Each has a gilt collar, locket and chain.

Each have an overall height of about 10.5inches.

Max base size of about 7.75 x 5.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is:

excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes except:

one has a hairline following the moulding line down the rear side.

same has a firing crack under the base edge which is from time of manufacture.

other has similar hairline to the moulding line of the rear side and for a small distance on the front side with a fine hairline coming from.

it has a surplus of paste or similar to its nose.

due to age: areas of overall loss of colour with rubbing with areas of fine crazing.
