Ernestine Cannon (1904-1969), également connue sous le nom d'Ernestine Virden-Cannon, était une céramiste et créatrice américaine de vaisselle dont l'activité était basée en Italie. Ernestine a vécu à Salerne pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, où en 1948 elle a créé son entreprise en réponse à la pauvreté d'après-guerre qu'elle y a vue. En 1949, la faïence produite selon les dessins d'Ernestine a été présentée lors d'un salon de Pittsburgh par ses représentants exclusifs Fisher, Bruce & Co, attirant une grande attention sur son travail et conduisant à sa vente dans des grands magasins tels que Neiman Marcus. En 1951, Ernestine a reçu un Neiman Marcus Fashion Award, la raison invoquée étant que ses "designs créatifs" avaient "apporté une nouvelle vie à l'industrie de la céramique en Italie".

Ernestine Cannon (1904–1969), also known as Ernestine Virden-Cannon, was an American ceramicist and tableware designer based in Italy. Ernestine lived in Salerno during World War II, where in 1948 she started her business in response to the post-war poverty she saw there. In 1949, earthenware produced to Ernestine's designs was displayed at a Pittsburgh show by her exclusive representatives Fisher, Bruce & Co, attracting great attention to her work and leading to its sale in department stores such as NeimanMarcus. In 1951, Ernestine received a Neiman Marcus Fashion Award, the reason given being that her "creative designs" had "brought new life to the ceramics industry in Italy".
