This is a beautiful 14K solid gold mechanical pencil which telescopes out by pushing on the center rings. Pulling up closes the pencil and pushing down opens it. The top jeweled crown of the pencil screws off to reveal the hollow tube which holds the lead shafts. There is a 14K gold ring on the side of the pencil to hang it on a chatelaine or as a pendant on a chain. The pencil is beautifully engine turned with a repeating pattern of engraving top to bottom, and the crown push rings are chased well.
The pencil is not monogramed, signed by the maker or marked for metal content but it has been acid tested to at least 14K solid gold, possibly as high a 15K. The pencil weighs 7.8 grams all inclusive.
