STYLE
SILVER PLATED
BERRY SPOONS
A beautiful and elegant vintage
pair of silver plated / electroplated
quality highly decorated berry spoons
(photos don’t do them justice)
The originals were designed for the
serving of cut fruit and berry desserts
in the mid Victorian
period which
was a popular course of any elegant
dining
experience.
This set would date from the early
to the mid 20th C.
The bowls of the spoons are embossed
with a
pineapple (a very expensive
item in 19th C England and a symbol
of wealth), grapes, apples, berries
etc and the stems or handles are
decorated with the traditional and
most expensive Kings pattern.
We have four of these spoons
for sale and are listing them in pairs.
They are identical though so if
you want all four they will look
like a set of four.
Only one spoon has a makers stamp:-

Have shown both stamps in photos.
THIS LISTING IF FOR THE PAIR
THAT DOESN’T
HAVE THE
MAKERS STAMP.
You could use them for serving
anything you like of course including
berries or
trifle or similar desserts
or even salads and other savoury
side dishes.
I have included a group photo of
lots of
different items including various
sets of these gorgeous silver plated
berry serving spoons, four serving items
from Royal Albert Old Country Roses
and lots of very cute caterers individual
milk servers
made by Grindley which
are quite rare little items as they weren’t
produced for the retail market as far
as I know
and I thought would also
be great for sauces etc.
Any of these items would be a lovely
addition to
any elegant celebration buffet
or dining table and Christmas is never
far off people!
CONDITION
In
very good vintage condition
showing very minor if any signs
of age and use.
The
silver plating is very good
with
no obvious wear anywhere
and
only light surface marks that
are
standard on any old silver
plated cutlery.
