A dear friend from Australia sent me this beautiful quotation: “Historical Events are Never More Exciting Than When You Read Them From The Day They First Occurred and were Reported in Newspapers and Magazines”.

WHAT NEW ZEALAND LEARNED

FROM IT’S WORST QUAKE” in 1929

Folks, seems our present world is experiencing earthquakes in various locations but I found news of one back in 1929 occurring in New Zealand that even made the headlines in the United States. I felt it might be of some interest to those who had not seen it before. We ship to New

SCIENCE AND INVENTION

WHAT NEW ZEALAND LEARNED

FROM IT’S WORST QUAKE” in 1929

This is story as originally written. There were many great stories published about the early recognition and records of earthquakes– the common ones show up every day but the rarer ones never make it. This is a collector’s item and very hard to find. I hunt them out cause really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest.

Here’s one of the best.

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the images and text of folks who have contributed to our memorabilia. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost.

I hope you appreciate the effort.

Folks, sooner or later – Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer’s dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our New Zealand friends, my indexed listings will include all names mentioned in the story from this time on.

NEW ZEALAND QUAKE

MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

On the back side of this is a rare color Marquette Car Ad. While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost.

What a Rare Item!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was saved from this old American news magazine of many years ago. These two pages (8-1/2 by 12 inches) are the ORIGINAL -  piece in excellent condition.

As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story saved from a rarely found and seldom read American news magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.
