This iconic book of Beauty and Charm is a fun and enlightening book to peruse as it navigates the ideals of Beauty and Charm in the 1950's, from its assertion that we desire beauty "to be attractive to men, but also the urge to make men, women and children like us." I love the picture of the housewife in her dress, getting ready to clean the house, but remembering to put on hand cream to keep her hands smooth.   This 404 page book is a good book to guage the times it was written, and contemplate where we are today.
