 Presented for auction is this Scarce Solid Sterling Silver King Edward VII Volunteer Officer's Decoration Medal, hallmarked for London 1902 by R & S Garrard & Co (Sebastian Henry Garrard).

This scarce solid sterling silver King Edward VII Volunteer Officer's Decoration Medal, has a green ribbon with oakleaf ribbon bar and securing pin to the reverse, it was awarded to officers who had served in the Volunteer Force giving 20 years of commissioned service. They were struck in solid sterling silver and silver gilt and issued unnamed. It is hallmarked to the reverse with the Makers mark SG, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver, the London assay office Leopards head and the Date letter G for 1902, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.

It is in excellent used condition with no dents, dings, splits or repairs, but the silver gilt has worn away over the years with a small amount remaining in places.
