- **** THIS IS HEAVIER AND THICKER THEN WHAT I AM USE TO SEEING IN A STERLING THIMBLE SO MY GUESS IS SILVER TONE METAL OR SILVER PLATE 

- There is wear and loss to the writing and detail

- I could not find a mark 

this was part of a royal family collection which is why I think it is English
