antique and original lithograph from the 1890s (late 19th century circa) published under the supervision of Albert Racinet at Rombaldi. Second edition of these plates, previously published by Firmin Didot. Lithograph by Llanta. Gorgeous bright colors. The explanatory note titles this lithograph as follows:BOURGEOIS AND WORKERS—NOBILIARY CLASS; BALL COSTUMES (1667 - 1677).". The first 3 figures are taken from a tapestry in the Garde-Meuble representing a visit by Louis XIV and Colbert to the royal manufacture of crown furniture, with two workers and a bourgeois. The last 3 are dancers in ball gowns and musicians.
