These were used on cabinets, jelly cupboards and all sorts of furniture. 


  • There is a chip on the knob
  • This latch is an example of an early cast iron latch.
  • The latch has none of the old paint remaining
  • The primitive iron gives it a neat charming beauty.
  • The knob is white porcelain
  • There is a brass washer under the porcelain to make it slide easier
  • The knob has a few small blemishes that good old porcelain often has.
  • The knob post is solid brass
  • Likely cast in the late 1800s.
  • A set of old screws is included.
  • The latch was cleaned and oiled to prevent rust
  • It is ready for paint. Just wash with soap and water.
  • The latch is 3 3/4" long 
  • It is 1 1/4" wide.
