“EDVARD MUNCH: THE GRAPHIC WORK” is the title of an exhibition catalogue which was published to accompany an art gallery show of the same name which was organized by the Munch Museum in Oslo,Norway, and toured several Canadian museums in 1969-1970. The show was on display at: The Winnipeg Art Gallery; The Edmonton Art Gallery; The Memorial Art Gallery in St. John's, Newfoundland; The Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto; The Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon; The Nova Scotia Museum of Fine Arts; and the St. Catherines Ontario Arts Council. This particular show (and book) highlighted some of the greatest treasures of Munch's work, and the show featured 104 different items: Prints, lithographs, woodcuts, etchings and drypoints. Each item is listed in the book, and there are also 13 full-page illustrations of some of the more major works, and they are accompanied by a detailed write-up  text by the editor/curator, which puts them (and the artist) into full historical, artistic, and cultural context. Lots of emphasis on the different types of prints that  Munch did, & the techniques for each.

A great exhibit, and a useful catalog for anyone interested in expressionist & symbolist art and artists, European art history, print making, and so on.

The book was published in 1969, and it is 32 pages long. The book is a softcover, and is large format, measuring about 10 x 8 inches. The book is used, but is in excellent condition. There is a bit of a transparent stain on the front cover (which should be obvious in  the scan), but no writing, no missing or torn pages and a tight spine and clean cover. This would make a great addition to your collection, or a super gift. Top bidder should add $3.99 for postage within Canada, or $5.99 for mailing to the USA.
