List price is 25.99....it has at times been available on ebay for 38.00!      scroll down for pics

This lock is brass (gold) color.    See pics above.       Please read the whole ad!!!!!

I will email detailed installation instructions if you request them.

This is a Gibson OEM replacement combination lock for your mid 90's-on Brown/Pink Gibson-TKL cases....for many of the factory models including Super 400, es 335, L5, es175, SG, Les Paul Standard, Chet Atkins, Flying V and many others. This is not just a replacement...it is the OEM unit that Gibson uses on the cases which are branded Gibson TKL!

On some years of the tan/pink case, lock drops into the old space with no mods*.  Manufacturer refers to this lock as "LH":  The numbers will appear correctly....readable  from the point of view of opening the case lid...just as on your old case. This is the standard lock with the square portion that is raised 1/4 inch. Please compare to your case or send me a pic if you are unsure what you need.

Comes with 6 TKL split rivets for a pro-looking installation **       **We include the rivet size that we have found to be the most standard size which is correct for MOST gibson tan/pink case depths...if you know the exact size length you require you can email us that. If you discover that you require a different size AFTER you receive the lock, there will be a slight charge to send more rivets. We want to help you get your case back on the road and get you making some good music!   The rivet needs to poke through the wood about an eighth of an inch for the correct "clinch".     (Many of the original cases had factory screws in the upper hasp....we do not include those 2 screws but a comparable size in brass can be purchased at Home Depot.  If you are replacing a broken lock, it is recommended that you reuse those two screws if your case has them).

Directions for setting combination are included....you can leave the numbers set on "000" with the red tag in, or set the lock to your number.

If your case combination was lost and you then had to break into the case, this is your chance to restore your case to factory original.

* This is the exact lock used on many newer Gibson-TKL cases.  On cases from some years in the 90's, I have found some of the original locks to be 1/8th inch longer than this new one.  The new one will still work as a good replacement on those cases (I have done it successfully many times); the only thing that may be visible is a slight crease in the tolex made by your original lock; two of the holes may have to be adjusted; I have placed many locks in those cases with excellent results. TKL no longer makes or sells the older style lock so this is the best option and, again, it works fine. The last pic shows a lock I installed on one of my own cases where the original lock was 1/8th inch longer...you can barely see a crease created from the original lock...and I filled two holes which were right at the edge of the lock...no one would notice unless you pointed it out.  You can call me if you have questions about your installation process.

Measurement:    Lock square is 2 and 9/16ths  x   1 and 5/16ths inches  ----  please compare your required measurement before bidding

See last pic....happy customer sent me this pic...he installed the lock on his 90's gibson banjo case.  Looks good!

**Regarding Rivet Size:  I include a set of rivets with this lock that are standard on most Gibson cases.  If you know exactly what size rivet you need, please email me and I will include that size with the lock. If you find you need a different size rivet AFTER you receive the lock, you can order a different size at a modest additional charge which will cover my costs.
