Antique Cast Iron
Trivet Heart Design & Letter W
2 Inch Legs and A Handle

For your Antique Trivet Collection-HeartWTrivet1

Details

  • Description: A nice cast iron antique trivet. The trivet has a heart and the letter W design on top where the sad iron would sit. It has three unusually long, 2-inch, legs so it sits away from any surface. It also has a shaped handle with openings throughout. Again, the piece has three legs, which make the piece level and very stable. All in all, a very interesting antique trivet to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

  • Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late 1800s (mid to late 19th century), could be earlier.

  • Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

  • Size: The trivet measures ~8 3/4" long, ~4" at its widest, and it is ~2 3/8" high. The piece weighs a little over 14.5 ounces.

  • Maker: Unknown.

  • Marks: Unmarked.

  • Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and rather unusual antique trivet that looks great. It would be a great addition to any collection.

  • Condition: The trivet is in generally good condition. It is all original and complete, which is a miracle after being around for over 100 years. It has no breaks, no losses, and no repairs. The trivet has general rust throughout but this does not compromise the structural integrity of the piece. It could be cleaned and polished off to return it to its original beauty, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner. Other than that, the piece is all original and solid. Just a great antique to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
