PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A cage nut is used on a rack that has square mounting holes. You would use a cage nut when you need to mount a product in your rack that requires a threaded hole. A cage nut is nothing more than a square nut that has threaded holes wrapped in a piece of spring steel designed like a cage.
It has two spring steel flanges that when pressed together allow the cage nut to be inserted into the square hole and simply clip in. When it is done you have a round hole that is threaded. The nut is loose in the cage which allows for adjustments when installing the screw.
Our M6 screws and lock nuts conform to the standard metric system. The average error is less than 0.01mm. The thread is very sharp, clean, and accurate without burrs.
This rack screw set includes 25 Phillips-type screws, 25 cage nuts, and nylon washers to prevent scratching rack equipment. Clamp the cage nuts to the back into the holding rail of the housing, then screw on the component to be installed from the front.
