"The Dogon village of Songho has a number of granaries covered with straw from wild grasses. There are two types of granaries: masculine and feminine. The feminine granaries are made up of four compartments, and the masculine are composed of only one. In the middle of the village. there is a 'toguna,' a place for dialogue and tolerance. For the Dogon people, life rests on four principles: work, knowledge, tolerance, and celebration."
