This is the Culturally Inappropriate story of a young boy described as an "Indian" and he is looking for friends.

All the characters are white faced because they did not think it mattered back in 1961.

To be fair, it could be worse.

Until you get to the end... when the very white families travelling through the Native American Territory, decide to stay forever and "Little Chief" declares "hooray - we can all be friends" but he hadn't  met the grown up White Settlers yet and experienced the atrocities they had in mind to kill them all off and steal their land.
