This Listing is for ONE NEW Sheet of 20 Peanuts Cartoon 34¢ Stamps from 2001, featuring Snoopy on His Doghouse as the World War I Flying Ace British Fighter Pilot Battling with the Red Baron.

Mint. MNH. No flaws. From a Smoke-free and Pet-free Environment.

The U.S. Postal Service issued this 34¢ "Peanuts" commemorative adhesive pane of 20 stamps on May 17, 2001 in Santa Rosa, CA. This image of Snoopy on his doghouse is from the comics and cartoons created by Charles M. Schulz.

Snoopy's first appearance as the World War I Flying Ace was in the Peanuts comic strip from October 10, 1965, which saw him climb on top of his doghouse (claiming it was a Sopwith Camel biplane) to do battle with the Red Baron. The fantasy ended when Linus came up behind him and imitated the noise of a machine gun. Often, after an imaginary battle, Snoopy would call out "Curse you, Red Baron!"

Charles M. Schulz, a veteran himself, gave approval for a fighter squadron in the Vietnam War (who wrote to ask his permission) to use Snoopy the World War I Flying Ace as their mascot.
