Inventor of Microphone To Receive Franklin Gold Medal: On May 15th, Emile Berliner, Washington scientist, will appear for the third time before the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia, this time to receive their highest award, the Franklin gold medal. Diaphragmed walls for perfecting the acoustics in auditoriums is his latest achievement to attract their attention. His disc talking machine is, of course, known the world over, but he is best known as the inventor of the microphone. Photo measures 7 x 10.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1929.
