QT magazine debuted towards the latter part of 1956, with the inaugural issue likely released in November of that year. Published by Concord Publications Ltd, located on Wardour Street in London, it remained under their control for every subsequent issue, a rarity during the late 1950s and early 1960s when many magazines changed publishers frequently.

Russel Gay was a key contributor to QT, credited with all color pages up to No 77. QT distinguished itself from the prevalent ToCo books dominating newsstands at the end of the 1950s. With its meticulous production values and professional appearance, QT stood out from the competition. Notably, it boasted more pages, totaling 58, offering readers a substantial and engaging read.
