Japanese two-stroke motorcycles in Germany

The street models from 250 cm³ displacement

Original Motorbuch Verlag, new book, see photos!

The Japanese motorcycle industry started out very small and modest - this applied to both the engine displacement and the technology used. While the Western European motorcycle industry soon said goodbye to it in the larger classes, the "Japanese" really got started: two, three and four cylinders, from 50 to 750 cubic meters - there was practically nothing that wasn't offered. The output per liter was so enormous that it overwhelmed the tires, chassis and driver. The legend, however, is unforgettable: Suzuki's incredible water buffalo, Kawasaki's infernally screaming three-cylinder, Yamaha's highly sophisticated RDs with water cooling - the selection was gigantic.
