France 1728 Large Bronze Medal - ANTOINE AND RENÉE DE
BOURBON - by SAINT URBAIN
Lorraine: Antoine and Renée de Bourbon by Saint Urbain,
(c.1728) Nancy.
This large 47mm and heavy 41g solid bronze medal features Antoine
de Lorraine, dit le Bon, (1489-1544), who was Duke of Lorraine and Bar from
1508 to 1544 and titular Duke of Guelders from 1538 to 1541. He married Renée
de Bourbon-Montpensier (1494-1539) in 1515.
This medal was made by Ferdinand de Saint-Urbain
(1658-1738). With an original bail, a very beautiful bronze cast

LOTHOR. AND. BAR. DVX. Armored bust of Antoine de Lorraine
right, SV signature.
Reverse: RENATA. OF. BORBONIA. LOTHOR. AND. BAR. DVCISSA. Bust
of Renée de Bourbon-Montpensier on the left.
