This offering is a 1978 Topps Baseball Card Partial Set - 96.4% complete (700 of 726). While 31 HOFers (including Schmidt, Yastrzemski, Winfield, McCovey, Brock, Fisk, Morgan, Rice, Simmons, Stargell, Palmer, Carlton, Perry, Niekro, Sutton, Jenkins, Hunter, Kaat, Gossage, Eckersley, Fingers, Sutter, and Morris) and many stars of the era (including Rose, Munson, Parker, etc.) are included, the ten highest value cards are not included (see list in next paragraph).

Cards not in this lot - numbers 6, 36 (Murray), 46, 72 (Dawson), 100 (Brett), 109, 120 (Carter), 131, 138, 143, 173 (Yount), 197, 200 (Jackson), 218, 318, 330, 400 (Ryan), 407, 450 (Seaver), 580 (Carew), 638, 700 (Bench), 704 (Whitaker rookie), 707 (Molitor rookie), and 708 (Murphy rookie).

These cards were purchased by me in cases directly from Topps in 1978 - No Gum! They have remained in pristine condition since. The cards have sharp corners and edges in virtually all cases and are free of marks (including on checklists) and creases. Most cards have good picture gloss as well. As to centering, IMO 62% (433 cards) are well-centered and, accordingly, are in NM-MINT or better condition; 32% (225 cards) have centering that is decent but not excellent and would grade EX-MT or NM. The remaining 6% (42 cards) are poorly centered, including 1 card I would consider a miscut. Photos are provided for the boxed partial set and 159 players. The first card photo presents the 6 highest value cards in the lot; each of the 17 remaining photos presents 9 consecutive cards each where a HOFer or period star is included. The cards pictured are representative of the lot.
