Over-struck over a Ferdinand VII 1814-So Chile Spanish Colonial 8 reales coin (minted at Santiago, mint mark So).

Very rare example where the Chile 8 reales undertype date and mint mark & portions of the legends are clearly visible.

Date is boldly visible (rare as such) approx. 8:00 obverse.

Santiago (So) mint mark is visible approx. 6:30 reverse.

Certified by NGC to AU 55, toned with underlying luster, very pleasing in hand.
