Antique oak cabinet door in frame

Very nice oak cabinet door in oak frame
Ornate polished brass hinges

Aquired for a project some years ago but never subsequently used
Was previously fitted in a floor standing cabinet with shelves, all of which was clearly not original and has since been scrapped; holes had been drilled around the frame to accomodate brass roundhead screws which fixed the frame to the cabinet
My guess is that this was once part of a much taller unit which was built into an alcove in an old house
Clearly in need of some renovation/repair - a project for someone with some basic carpentry abilities and a bit of free time
The panel has a split in it and there is a large hole where a lock and escutcheon was once fitted; it looks to me like the original lock failed and was replaced with another which didn't align with the keyhole and so someone (very badly) cut a larger hole to allow the key to pass through - it would probably benefit from a slip of oak being let into the door to completely fill the hole, and then perhaps a new lock fitted if required, and a fresh keyhole cut
