This vintage telephone directory Rolodex is a cool piece of mid-century office decor. Made by Telepone, it is battery powered and features push button controls for easy use. The directory is designed to hold telephone numbers and names. The info is put in by hand writing each name, address, and phone number onto an alphabetized rollling index (Rolodex)cards, This was way before cell phones, and people had to actually memorize phone numbers or have one of these handy devices. When the user pushes one of the 15 letter buttons, the rolodex will spin to theat set of names under that letter. This has been cleaned inside and out and is operating flawlessly. It can be a cool addition to any desk or office space. It has a unique look that is sure to catch the eye of those who enter the room. Whether you collect vintage office supplies or just want to add a touch of retro charm to your workspace, this telephone directory is an excellent choice.

I am amazed I was able to get this working. I took it apart and cleaned every part of the inside. The buttons are each connected to a wire and when depressed it activates the mechanism that turns the cards and stops when it gets to the corresponding letter. The most impressive spin happens when you press the letter immediately before the card showing in the window, then it spins all the way through all of the letters to get back to the one you pressed. A very cool vintage piece that will amaze and entertain your friends and co-workers.

I have only seen three of these offered on Amazon and mine is the lowest priced (and best looking ) of the bunch.

Runs on two C sized batteries (included).

The other two on eBay are priced at $70 and $127.49 plus shipping.
