1971 Press Photo NY studio techs struggle with washing machine for commercial
This is an original press photo. Studio technicians, more familiar with movie equipment, struggle with unpacking instructions as they set up a portable dryer and washer in the Wylde studio in New York. Their job was to actually wash clothes to be worn in the Whirlpool commercial under product. The rules of the television commercial game say that articles shown on the screen going in and out of the machines must actually be washed by them in the manner depicted.
