1971 Triumph Spitfire MK4, 1500 with Overdrive.

I bought this Triumph Spitfire in 2020 and have spent a considerable amount of money on various new parts since owning her. I have only ever driven her when its been dry and she has been garaged under my ownership. This car would benefit from someone who wants to take her to next level - her body and paintwork needs attention but mechanically she is in very good order and is a joy to drive. She is 53 years old and with any classic car, will need regular maintenance, love, care and attention to keep them on the road.

Interior:

New heritage door cards supplied from Park Lane Classics
New heritage rear centre panel supplied from Park Lane Classics
Retrimmed armrest, tunnel cover and dash pad
New gloveboxes
Re-veneered dash in santos rosewood
New carpet set
New Securon inertia reel seat belts

The drivers seat has a tear in it (see photos) and both seats could do with new foam and reupholstering.

Exterior:

New soft top supplied from Don Trimming
New number plates

The body and paintwork do need work and would benefit from someone who isn't afraid of doing the work or investing some money to improve the car.

Mechanical and Electrical:

Completely rebuilt gearbox and J-type overdrive from Hardy Engineering
New clutch system (inclusive of clutch, master and slave cylinder and master-slave braided hose)
New front and rear brakes (discs, pads, shoes, master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, rear drums)
New stainless steel front disc and caliper dust shields
New original distributor supplied from Distributor Doctor
New alloy rocker cover
New coil
New battery
New alternator
New front lights
New water pump and aluminium housing
New aluminium radiator, all new hoses and overflow bottle

Inlet manifold refurbished
SU HS4 carburetors rebuilt (new jets, needles, damper springs, StayUp float kit)

The fuel tank was removed and POR15 kit was used to clean and reseal/reline the inside of the fuel tank. 2 filters were installed (1 in the boot and 1 before the fuel pump). New Automec fuel lines have been fitted and I have also installed a HUCO electric fuel pump mounted on the bulkhead which has a fuel inertia cutoff switch wired in for safety.

Oil and filter change completed on 24/03/2024.

The above list in not an exhaustive list of new parts, I have a folder full of receipts and invoices which can be viewed.

Please study the photos and if you require any more, then please ask and I will do my best to take other photos.

I am happy for viewings/inspections but I am very busy and therefore would appreciate no time wasters or silly offers.

V5 is present.

Collection only from Fleet, Hampshire. BACS transfer on collection.

Thanks,
Alex
