Compared to its predecessor in 44m-4, the number of aperture blades has been reduced from 8 to 6. The mechanism for switching operating modes of the diaphragm jumper has also disappeared. Helios-44M-4 traditionally has an aperture jumper - a mechanism that closes the aperture to the working value at the time of release or measuring exposure with a TTL exposure meter. The aperture switches in steps with intermediate values.
