Rare and very attractive, original 1850’s Figural Zinc Pocket Pistol Powder Flask featuring an elaborate, embossed flourish design.

This early and quite rare, Black Powder, Zinc Powder Flask measures approx. 4" tall and 2" across at its widest point. The Flask features a deeply embossed, stylized clam shell type flourish design. The body is bulbous and the back side of the Flask features the same design.

The Flask features a two screw collar and a spring loaded closure to the base of the brass spout but the Flask does not carry a manufacturer’s mark.

This rare and very attractive, 1850’s Black Powder Figural Pocket Pistol Powder Flask is in very good condition. The Flask is sound and intact and features a rich and warm surface patina with no indication of recent polishing to the zinc body or the brass cap. The thumb latch is intact and the spring return is strong. There is a small and very shallow dent to the surface on one side and some minor verdigris to the cap. Overall this rare, mid-19th century Powder Flask is well preserved and displays nicely as can be seen in the scans below!!

Important Notes about Shipping Charges:

The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
