A 9 1/4" tall rectangular-shaped deep TURQUOISE AQUA MARINE colored  antique PATENT MEDICINE bottle.   It is embossed Burton Medicines but labeled from the Owl Drug Co.  Note that this bottle is badly cracked and the label has been copied from an original label.  The bottle is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back to early 1900.

  • Bottle embossed:   "BURTON / FAMILY / MEDICINES - BURTON MEDICINES - BURTON MEDICINES".

  • Condition:   Bottle is in SPARKLING CLEAN condition, but it has a 5 inch long crack running down one side of it.  The label on the bottle was soaked off, photo copied, and a patched up copy put back on.

  • Age:  An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. early 1900.

  • Shipping: FREE domestic shipping. We DO ship Internationally but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.

A unique Owl Drug Co. patent medicine bottle.  It is embossed P C G W on the base.  PCGW = Pacific Coast Glass Works, the significance of this is that this bottle was blown in a glass house on the California coast.  This was an eBay purchase, a bottle that was advertised as mint, but had a 5 inch crack in it by the time we received it.  We soaked off the label to put on an undamaged example and in the exchange made copies of the label, which a copy of was put back on the original damaged bottle, this one.   The label says BURTON BLOOD SYRUP and says that it was manufactured by The Owl Drug Co.  This is an early, crude bottle, sunken and uneven panels, bubbles in the glass and texture on the surface of the glass, giving it an early look.   There were several different patent medicines sold by the Owl Drug Co., Burton's, Baker's, Carter's, to name a few.  Dr. Burton or Burton's, put up a few patent medicine products for the Owl Drug and some of these that have the Burton name on the label and some are embossed BURTON'S FAMILY MEDICINES.  There are not a lot of Owl Drug Co. patent medicine style bottles, and this is a big bold aqua onecheck it out!
