An Elector had the right to vote in the election of a new Emperor.

The coin was issued in the name of Prince Elector Frederick III the Wise, 

Duke John I the Steadfast, and 

Duke Georg the Bearded.

Frederick III is best known for being the earthly protector of his subject Martin Luther.  

Numista lists privy marks of lis and double lis for this type, but this privy mark looks more like a T or 7.
