This no reserve auction is for an original Lionel 153 Automatic Block Signal and Control in its original Middle Classic box. This piece is a "Variation A " with the resistor in the base dating it to 1945-1949.
The silver painted post and green painted base on this piece glow. Just a few flea-bite nicks on the green base. The original 153-29 Operating Packet has all component parts inside including a factory mini-envelope for the insulating pins). Rounding out the package is a 511 inspection slip. The Middle Classic box is a brick with all flaps intact. Only minor shelf wear. While there is a cardboard insert that helps protect the bulbs while inside the box it is more circular than oblong as originals are known to be so I don't think this one is original. Overall, a super nice 153 Block Signal for your collection
