Description: A beautiful, small, and extremely fine to about uncirculated Banknote from Italy. This is the December 31, 1951 fifty Liras. The banknote has design in green on off-white or yellow background on the front. The front depict Italia on the left side facing right with the denomination spelled out in the center of the note. The back is green on a light yellow background. It has the denomination in the center with the number as well as the series number. This note has the signatures of Bolaffi, Cavallaro and Giovinco. This particular note has the serial number 024108 and it is series 1411, which are displayed twice each on the back. The paper of the note is crisp and the colors are fresh. The note has a water mark, which says 50, and is located in light colored area on the right of the front. It also has wave to the right at the edge and hence our grading of About Uncirculated. However, when we inspect the image of the note shown in the standard catalog we see the same wavy lines at the edge which appear to be original to the making of the banknote. This is the so called BIGLIETTO DI STATO banknote. Please carefully view scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a good extremely fine to about uncirculated or better. This of course is rather rare for note of such small denomination, since they normally get used a lot. The banknote has all the details and they are very well preserved. The note has no graffiti, creases, splits, pin holes, or stains. It has no soiling. It is crisp and intact. The corners of the note have minimal rounding and are lightly creased. The note has no splits and the edges are intact. Just a great piece to add to your collection.
