Description: A beautiful about or almost uncirculated 1868 half penny bronze coin from the United Kingdom. The coin, which has a plain edge, displays Queen Victoria's young bust and wearing a Laureate in her hair facing left on the obverse. The reverse displays Britannia seated and facing right with a light house behind her, a ship in front of her, the denomination surrounding her and the date below. The coin has the words "VICTORIA.D.G.: BRITT. REG. F.D." surrounding the queen's bust on the obverse. The reverse is marked "Half Penny 1868" surrounding a seated Britannia facing right. This is KM 748.2 weighing 5.7 grams and measuring about 25 mm in diameter. The coin comes in a plastic slab and is graded as About Uncirculated AU 58 BN (Brown) by the Numismatic Guarantee Corporation. A beautiful coin which deserves a spot in any advanced collection of British coins. It is nicely toned in a rich chocolate brown coloring and has great eye appeal. Condition: The coin comes in a slab and is graded by NGC as about uncirculated AU 58 BN. It is in great condition, well struck and has great eye appeal. It has some scratches, bag marks, and minor wear commensurate with its about uncirculated state all of which can be seen in the photos. Please see scan for additional condition information.
