The Karmann Ghia phone has been tested and it does work.  

The base and the telephone sign light up when the phone rings.  I think the sign above the gas pump is supposed to light up also, but it doesn't.  A really neat item.  Also the soft cover can be replaced with a hard top if desired and is included.  Note that the soft top will have to be remove and it probably will not be easy.

The batteries to power the lights will be removed before shipment.

Instructions are included.

After the phone cradle is assembled, it is difficult to disassemble.  Therefore, the original box will be folded up and shipped with the phone in another box.
