Vintage Bronze Hotel Fob & Russwin Room Key #436: THE DRAKE HOTEL, Chicago
This is a bronze fob & room key from the Drake Hotel in Chicago. The Drake family crest appears on the fob and was visible throughout the hotel. On their coat of arms, which displays a winged Dragon and battle-ax, is the Latin phrase AQUILA NON CAPIT MUSAS ("AN EAGLE DOES NOT CATCH FLIES").
The Drake, a member of the Hilton chain, is considered by many to be Chicago's most prestigious hotels. The hotel name is not on the key or fob. The back of the fob has " DROP IN ANY MAIL BOX RETURN POSTAGE GUARANTEED P.O. BOX 1633 CHICAGO 90, ILLINOIS". The key has the # 436. The key is also marked "MADE IN USA RUSSWIN".
