This is a vintage Mid Century Modern era sculpture of Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker". This particular Austin Productions sculpture I believe is constructed of Durastone which is a plaster based product which hardens to a durable ceramic type product. The statue has the appearance of actual metal, and it actually sounds like metal when tapped, but the interior looks to be plaster based. It has a bronze colored finish, original felted bottom. Signed Austin Productions 1964 on the back. It is in great shape. The front and sides have no visible flaws while displayed. The back/butt cheek and top shoulder has a few marks from age..small spots where the finish has rubbed off (as shown in last few photos). The top of the head also has some color transfer/rubbing from storage (shown in last photo). This sculpture can be used as vintage decor and is also functionable..can be used as a stand alone bookend or doorstop.

Measurements: 11 inches tall. Base is 6 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches
