Why combine books with bullion?

“Knowledge without action is like hoarding precious metals, a vain and foolish thing. Knowledge is like wealth, intended for use. Those who violate the universal law of USE conflict with natural forces.”

This mini mix LOT consists of a 1st Edition copy of:

"The World of Humanism, 1453-1517" by Myron P. Gilmore (published 1952) bound in a rich black hardcover in overall very good condition, the insides of which are virtually untouched and the pages are similarly and noticeably uncurled.

The very corners of the outer shell of the hardcover show some bend selectively, and there is slight a moisture blemish that is visible in the right light on the very front but otherwise it's a very presentable and highly collectible specimen.

Based on my research this is a very scarce first edition item, the closest approximation I found for sale was published 10 years later in 1962, and that was going for ~$50+ in similarly good condition. I suppose at this age it also could be considered antique?

This book is also accompanied by a pair of bullion rounds:

One (1) ounce of .999 COPPER (no mint mark, I suspect Highland Mint) featuring the famous and beloved Walking Liberty motif

One (1) GSM 1/10oz .999 Fine SILVER which is marked Golden State and the Incuse Indian motif
