Old news items recite our history!!! Here is a 1928 report of an American Digest entitled
"The Jones Complex On The Golf Links"
This is how the great old reporters used to write up a golf match, "At that moment, the "Jones Complex" appeared to hit Perkins fairly and squarely between the eyes. He floundered, he bungled, he broke down. His drive for he fourth was completely topped. It was the worst drive that Perkins had been seen to make all week--about the only one that he had completely foozled. His second was into the rough, his third in the bunker short of the green and...after his fourth, it was over". Stroke by stroke reporting coverage of the battle for the American Amatuer Championship at West Newton, Mass. Great old pictures of Bobby Jones and Phil Perkins on the link at Brae Burn.
