The AKARI series of "light sculptures" was created by Isamu Noguchi over a period of 35 years starting in 1951.
17A is AKARI, a pendant type that hangs from the ceiling.
Thin bamboo strips are wrapped at equal intervals around a rectangular prism silhouette.
All AKARI shades are handmade by craftsmen, and the completed AKARI is engraved with the logo.
