Set of beautiful antique French silver, 950 standard, small jug or creamer and tongs.

Small jug for water, which also can be used as creamer, is decorated with two engraved cartouches, and shell-styled patterns on base and legs. Gilded inside. Made in France in 19th century, by famous Parisian silver manufacturer Debain & Flamant. François-Alphonse Debain, located at 140 rue du Temple, registered his trademark depicting "a rowboat with two little men" on 15 January 1847. This trademark was renewed on 19 July 1851 but was later removed on 27 May 1864. Following in his father's footsteps, Alphonse-Edouard Debain continued the family legacy by incorporating the same symbol in his business partnership with Louis-Frédéric Flamant, forming the firm Debain & Flamant. In 1883, Alphonse Debain, the son of Alphonse-Edouard Debain, took over the silversmith Philippe Berthier's business. He adopted Berthier's symbol, "a woodcock," and modified his own mark to include "AD and a woodcock".

Silver tongs are decorated with baroque-style vegetal pattern, two mascarons from both sides and lion paws on ends.

Hallmarks: Minerve 1 (950 silver standard)
- jug: DEBAIN FLAMANT and man in boat (Debain & Flamant, 1874-1880)
- tongs: traces of manufacturer's hallmark

The condition is very good, with traces of age and usage, age stains. Jug has loses of gilding, some microscopic tiny dents on base, slightly shivers on flat surface (not an obstacle for usage).
