1993 Press Photo Marvin Schneider, Official City Clock Master, New York City

Marvin Schneider oils a mechanism for the bell in the clock tower in New York's City Hall on Dec. 27, 1993. Schneider, who works full time as a city office supervisor, is allowed 40 hours per year to keep six of the city clocks running, and is reimbursed for any additional hours he puts in on clock care. He is the first official city clock master since the 19th century. Photo measures 8 x 11.75 inches. Photo Is dated 1993.
