1952 Press Photo Crews Repair Hungry Horse Dam Catwalks Ripped by Avalanches
This is an original press photo. Construction crews at Hungry Horse dam in northwestern Montana busily repair temporary catwalks which were ripped from the face of the towering concrete dam by thundering avalanches of snow and ice. Despite a record snowfall of 139-inches this winter, workmen are continuing to labor on the 285,000-kilowatt Hungry Horse plant in preparation for production of power in October, 1952.
