This is a rare Road Marvel 36000 manufactured by Suwa Seikosha in 1977.

Production of the Road Marvel 36000 began in 1966 as the final form of the Road Marvel line that began in 1958. The last production was in 1978.
This model survived to the end even in the quartz age.
It is also famous as the first high-beat model produced in Japan, and the 36000 in the model name represents the frequency of the balance.

It is a manual-winding high-beat 36,000 oscillation that was the forerunner of the 45KS (King Seiko) and 45GS (Grand Seiko).

As you know, the Road Marvel was Seiko's first luxury wristwatch.
It was Seiko's most expensive watch before the Grand Seiko was introduced, and at the time, it was very expensive.

Both the exterior and the mechanism were very elaborate, and its high degree of perfection made it one of the models representing Seiko in the Showa period, which became the basis for the Grand Seiko watches sold thereafter.

The dial features rare all-arabic numerals with all appliquéd indexes. The hour and minute hands are in medium black for good legibility. The case is 35mm in diameter, the perfect size for Japanese people's arms, and is suitable for both formal and casual styles.
