LITTLE MISS SURESHOT

ANNIE OAKLEY

There was never a sweeter, gentler, more lovable woman.

NAMES in this article INDEXED below w * indicating picture: HEADERS: Because many of the old American magazines and books were not indexed and their heroes lost to posterity, I index every item I sell. See below for each and every name included in this great story. Your Hero might be there! As many of you know, I specialize in finding old western stories of long ago that have been overlooked, seldom found and rarely read.
You know, some guys can just write. Sure, the subject has to be good but regardless, sometime you just find a little western nugget that keeps you glued to the page with the thrilling adventure of a country girl who met up with a great marksman and their marriage and exploits thrilled the world of Circus and Carnival acts for years to come, and, oh yes, the marriage made in heaven lasted until her death at 63 – she was the world’s greatest marksman. For example”
“For seventeen years, Annie Oakley did trick shooting while lying on a galloping horses back – shooting a dime from her husband’s thumb and forefinger-shooting the edge of a playing card held in his hand and slicing it in two….She became America’s Sweetheart, she would shoot a dozen playing cards thrown into the air and perforate them…..At a theatre one night, a theatre manager received a ticket with a hole punched in it and said… Look’s like Annie Oakley did it -- and thus the most famous words in American show business vernacular were born – the Annie Oakley.

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

I hope you appreciate the effort.

Folks, sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it's worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Rodeo Performers, my indexed listings will include all names mentioned in the story from this time on.

ANNIE OAKLEY

I can’t do justice to Annie Oakley or the writer but he has placed it all here in great story after story where Little Miss Sureshot climbed to fame as the World’s Greatest Marksman. She was offered a commission in the French Army, the King of Senegal offered her a 100,000 francs to come and shoot at his palace—the King of Bavaria crowned her with a diamond bracelet. Hear head didn’t swell – she still collected autographs and was proudest of all of the one that read “To the loveliest and truest little women, both in heart and air, in all the world. Sworn to by and before myself.

W. F. Cody

BUFFALO BILL

STRAUSSBERG, 1890

ANNIE OAKLEY MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in excellent condition, the cover is pristine and in vibrant color.

As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story from a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.
