Here we have an exquisite profusely carved Antique Georgian Rosewood Jewellery Box / Trinket Box which is complete with its lock and key which is in working order. The box dates to circa 1800 and is possibly of Portuguese influence although we ask you to view the photographs and judge for yourself.

The rosewood veneers have some wonderful grain and the carved detailing is stunning.

The lid is cross banded and has lovely veneers to the centre which have been created in a lovely triangular pattern.  The lid opens once the lock is unlocked. this reveal a tray which is compartmented. This tray in turn lifts out to give access to the area below. The inside of the lid is fitted with blue velvet

There are three drawers. The drawers have been lined with sugar paper to the sides and quilted fabric to the bottom.

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: 15 1/4 inches / 38.5 cm wide x 11 inches / 28 cm x 6 5/8 inches / 16 cm high.

CONDITION: The box is in superb condition as can be seen from the photographs especially considering it is over 220 years old just odd marks commensurate with age and use, in addition there are a couple of piece of veneer lacking on the inside of the left of the lid and there is a very small knock to the right side at the bottom which is hardly noticeable, please see final two photographs. Please study photographs as you will receive exactly what is photographed.
